From Germany via Passau
Alternative route via Voralpenkreuz – A9 – Liezen – Ennstal BundesstraรŸe direction Radstadt – Obertauern.

From the east (e.g. Vienna/AT or Graz/AT):
Via the A2 southern freeway and the S6 Semmering expressway to the St. Michael in Styria freeway junction. From here through the Mur valley, past Judenburg, Murau and Tamsweg to Obertauern (S36/B97/B99).

From St. Michael in Styria via the A9 to Liezen and further via the B320/E651 through the Enns Valley to Radstadt and Obertauern.


By car …

From the north (e.g. Munich/DE or Salzburg/AT):
From Germany on the freeway A8 to Salzburg, shortly after the freeway border crossing Walserberg change to the Tauern freeway A10 in the direction of Graz & Villach. Take the exit/Exit 63 (Radstadt & Altenmarkt or Graz) and follow the B99 past Altenmarkt and Radstadt to Obertauern.


From the east (e.g. Vienna/AT or Graz/AT):
Option 1: Via the A2 southern freeway and the S6 Semmering expressway to the St. Michael in Styria freeway junction. From here through the Mur valley, past Judenburg, Murau and Tamsweg to Obertauern (S36/B97/B99).

Variant 2: From St. Michael in Styria via the A9 to Liezen and further via the B320/E651 through the Enns Valley to Radstadt and Obertauern.

Variant 3: If you prefer to travel by freeway, you can take the A1 from Vienna to Salzburg and continue on the A10 Tauern freeway (see Arriving from the North).


From the south (e.g. Udine/IT, Ljubljana/SLO or Villach/AT):
In Italy via the A23 or in Slovenia via the E61 to the Villach freeway junction. From here take the Tauernautobahn A10 in the direction of Salzburg – through the Katschbergtunnel – to the exit St. Michael im Lungau (An alternative to the toll Katschbergtunnel is the exit Rennweg and the road over the Katschbergpass). From St. Michael the B99 leads through Mauterndorf and Tweng in about 30 km to Obertauern.


From the west (e.g. Innsbruck/AT or Bischofshofen/AT):
Arrival via the highway is from the north (see above). The journey variants over div. Federal roads meet in Altenmarkt, from here it is about 24 km past Radstadt to Obertauern.


Arrived in Obertauern:
Coming from Radstadt, follow the main road (B99) until bridge no. 5. Immediately after that turn left and then in the second row (behind the Hotel Snowwhite) you will find your Hotel Solaria in Obertauern.

Coming from Mauterndorf, follow the main road (B99) over the pass until you reach bridge no. 5. Turn right immediately before it and then in the second row (behind the Hotel Snowwhite) you will find your Hotel Solaria in Obertauern.


By train…

Destination station for your arrival by train is the train station in Radstadt. From Radstadt it is still about 21 km to Obertauern. We recommend booking a cab company in advance for the train station transfer. More information here.

By plane…

Fly & Shuttle: With the airline to Salzburg or Klagenfurt and by shuttle easy, comfortable and cheap to Obertauern. Information about the shuttle service and individual transfers can be found here.
